2017 Robot Build Season Updates

Kickoff (1/7/17)

  • Watched Kickoff Video
  • Discussed Strategies and Basic Design Ideas
  • Decided on drive train and ordered it

Week 1 (1/8-1/14)

  • Discussed strategy
  • Started constructing practice field
  • Protyping

Week 2 (1/15-1/21)

  • Prototyping
  • Finished Practice field

Week 3 (1/22-1/28)

  • Assembled Drivetrain
  • Gear Pickup Designed
  • Shooter Prototype tested

Week 4 (1/29-2/4)

  • Gear Pickup Fabricated and ready to be attached to robot
  • Pickup and Shooter Final Assembly Began

Week 5 (2/5-2/11)

  • Attached pickup to the robot

Week 6 (2/12-2/18)

  • Finalized hopper design
  • Put more parts on the robot

Week 7 (2/19-2/21)

  • Spent all of winter break working on the robot
  • Finalized designs and attached shooter, hopper, and finished pickup
  • Robot was finished with two hours to spare giving us two hours to test everything
    • Everything worked well
      • Modified climber design
  • Driver Station and Bumpers assembled

District Competitions

Week 1 – Southfield

  • Modified Program, and configured cameras
  • Looked to other robots for an updated climber design

Week 2

  • The entire climber was updated and replaced.
  • The shooter was updated.

Week 3 – Waterford

  • Our climber was taking us about 10 seconds to get to the top.
    • We replaced the motor with a different system of powering it.
      • We can now climb in 4-6 seconds.
  • Cameras were tested and are now functioning
  • Gear auton code development in testing phase

Week 4

  • Updated shooter design
  • Pit Work
  • New shooter prototype in development
  • Shooting and gear auton programing and testing

Week 5 – Marysville

  • Practice Event for States

Week 6

  • Prep Robot for States
